RSC Week #23 Orange for June / Last of Green for May / Not Getting Rid of the Squirrel from Grandma's Red Needle

How come it's June already?! Before we know it's Fall and Christmas again!
Been busy quilting, I know I have missed a lot in blog-land. Hope you all are doing well and enjoying summer, or 'winter' on the Southern hemisphere.

Over the last days, I'm caught up on RSC (Rainbow Scrap Challenge) for May, which was Green. Orange is chosen for June and all blocks done! I have mentioned earlier I prefer to do the RSC blocks beginning of the month. By doing it that way, I can work on anything I fancy the rest of the ...

RSC Week #18 - GREEN for May from Grandma's Red Needle

Happy May!

It's the first Saturday in May and new RSC color (Rainbow Scrap Challenge)
Angela at SuperScrappy has chosen GREEN as the color for May.

I spent last weekend catching up on red by making

one half circle

and one quarter circle for 'Eclipse'. Here I have used red and green.
The pattern (layout) is still a bit confusing, but I should not bother or overthink about that at this point! I'll make the blocks and 'worry' about the layout when the time comes! lol

I had sew much fun making two green blocks for Pat Sloan ...

RSC Week 9 - March is Yellow from Grandma's Red Needle

HAPPY MARCH!

It's the first Saturday in March and many of us are ready for RSC (Rainbow Scrap Challenge) show and tell. Angela at SuperScrappy has chosen YELLOW  for spring!

I prefer doing the RSC blocks at the beginning of each month, after Angela has chosen the color. When they are done, I'm 'free' to do whatever.
My goal this year is to finish some UFOs, so let's see how that works out his month.

I had almost forgotten I'm doing Pat Sloan's '182 Day Solstice Challenge'!
I started the BOM in May 2024, and ...

RSC Week #29 - AQUA from Grandma's Red Needle

HAPPY END OF JULY!
How come it's second half of July already?!
I haven't posted anything this month. July is the start of prepping Christmas items for my Etsy shop and is always a busy month. I've worked mostly on Advent Calendars, mug rugs and trivets.

Angela at SuperScrappy has chosen AQUA for this month's RSC  (Rainbow Scrap Challenge) scrappy color, shades of blue leaning towards green.

Hmmm.... That's a tricky color for me, as I don't have many prints in that color. I've done a mix of aqua, turquoise and teal. It ...

RSC Week #20 - No more PINK... from Grandma's Red Needle

...I said, in my previous post

I have admired the Hollow 9-patch blocks some of you are making and since some 2-1/2" pink squares were hiding on the table, I decided to make a few blocks

I got 3 blocks

I've been lurking at Pat Sloan's '182 Day Solstice Challenge Blocks' for some time and I really love how her quilt turned out. Isn't it pretty?
Today (Thursday) I decided to jump into it and make a few pink blocks! It doesn't harm to use up more stash, does it?!

AN OUT OF THIS WORLD QUILT from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

I saw that Julie B. had posted a picture of her "Out Of This World" quilt, a Pat Sloan BOM, and it inspired me to sew my blocks together.  I used scraps and really enjoyed making these blocks.  Now to decide on the borders.
This is another picture of my quilt.  The first one was taken in the house and looks washed out, so I took it outside and spread it out on the grass.

Don't forget that Wednesday the Happy Scrappers meet at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Hope to see you there.  All are welcome.

MARK YOUR ...
